Krishi Vigyan Kendras are Agriculture Science Centers of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) mostly operate through State Agricultural Universities (SAUS) and NGOs.
Dr Ramanaidu-Ekalavya Grameena Vikas Foundation Krishi Vigyan Kendra became fully operational in May, 2018 with Senior scientist & Head and 6 scientists specializing in plant protection, agronomy, horticulture, agricultural engineering & farm machinery, Agricultural Extension & Home science at Tuniki village of Kowdipally mandal in Medak district of Telangana State which falls under ‘Agriculture Technology Application Research Institute' (ATARI) Zone-X, Hyderabad. The KVK has catered to the needs of the agriculture and allied sector to empower the farmer with the latest agriculture innovations to apply.
KVK Mandate and Activities:
The mandate of KVK is Technology Assessment and Demonstration for its Application and Capacity Development.
EGVF-KVK has set up solar drier unit which has been used to demonstrate the economic sustainability and of selling solar dried fruits, vegetables and condiments.
This is set up to create an idea of micro – enterprise and uplift the economy of women in the district to adopt the technology of drying process and generate income through various dehydrated and value added products.
We have developed around 17 products involving women SHG groups from Medak dist.
